Artistic intentions
Where word, sound, and movement meet stillness, something opens. I often return to that place — attempting to shape works that aspire to reveal what usually stays hidden. I was born to Irish American parents, raised in France, now living in Amsterdam — my life was shaped between languages, cultures, and the landscapes of longing, belonging, and exile.
Theatre found me on the streets of Penang, Malaysia, working with Teater Muda, where performance was a living act of gathering and transformation. In Paris, I trained under Jacques Lecoq, learning to shape meaning out of movement, gesture, and breath — and co-founded Diehard Players Paris. Now, as Artistic Director of Opera Armida in Amsterdam, I create operatic installations where sound, word, and movement attempt to reveal the unseen.
Stone Prayers is a kind of logbook — a continuing search on my long road to Ithaka. A record of attempts, explorations, and the silence that lies in between.
