Frauen, Liebe, und Leben
(May 2019, Leiden)
Frauen, Liebe und Leben moves between two musical worlds — the raw edges of Kurt Weill and the romantic gaze of Robert Schumann. Their contrast reveals the tension between longing and loss, illusion and truth.
At the center of this work stands a woman, fractured and whole, singing herself into being. Her voice carries sweetness, sorrow, and strength. This is a piece about love, life, and all the beauty and uncertainty that lives in between.
With Matthew Lynch (artistic director), Adva Tas (soprano), Maria Sperling (piano), Gebien Kroon (assistant director).
